The construction of SANA Gongo Dispensary started in October 2011. This was made possible by the kind donations of Friends of SANA.

Currently there is no medical facility in the Gongo village; the situation forces the villagers to walk a distance of 17km to reach the nearest Dispensary. The situation is more sensitive to children and expecting mothers who currently receive no immediate aid when they fall sick.

We are optimistic that the Gongo Dispensary will bring solutions to the first level medical needs of the villagers as well as providing mother and child health care. The Dispensary will also open the possibility for volunteer work for doctors and medical students who wish to visit the Gongo village to provide medical services and conduct medical research useful to the local communities.
