Appropriate Rural Technology Institute (ARTI-TZ)

Appropriate Rural Technology Institute, ARTI-TZ,  is a Tanzanian registered non-political, non-profit making Organisation, with the Mission of serving Tanzania as an instrument of development through the dissemination and application of scientific knowledge and sustainable technologies for energy production, environmental protection, employment and income generating opportunities.

ARTI- TZ was established in 2006 and drives its technologies from internationally recognized ARTI- India under a technology transfer agreement. The technologies are based on known scientific principles, standardised and modified through field testing and proven to be physically, economically and socially feasible.

ARTI-TZ is offering an easier alternative to felling trees for the production of charcoal. we believe that offering a less strenuous option should encourage charcoal producers to avoid felling trees while not sacrificing income generation.

ARTI- Tanzania fully recognizes the reality that in order to ensure Tanzanians engage in environmentally friendly activities, those activities must be beneficial and relevant to their needs. With this knowledge, ARTI designed a training system that focuses primarily on entrepreneurship and income generation.

Providing a source of income ensures achievement of Environment protection.
SANA is working with ARTI- TZ in introducing alternative and sustainable technologies in the areas we work; also this goes hand in hand with Entrepreneurship training.
